Countryside Elegance, a Spring Whitehall Wedding

There’s nothing like that first outdoor wedding of the season. And after a slow start, Mother Nature provided a most beautiful backdrop for the April 14th nuptials of Kyndra Short and Anthony DiCarlo. The couple said their “I Do’s” in front of the gazebo on the grounds of Historic Whitehall Estate just west of Leesburg.

The wedding day was defined by the couple’s fun-loving personalities and the countryside elegance of the Whitehall. Shepherd’s crooks with lanterns lined the aisle and the gazebo was decorated with a beautiful garland strand of flowers and greenery by Affordable Arrangements. The bridal party wore a classic look – tuxedos for the groomsmen and black chiffon for the bridesmaids. Each attendant selected a flattering neckline for her gown.

One of the more touching moments of the ceremony occurred during the processional. Although the processional was designed for Anthony's grandmother to be wheeled down the aisle, she proudly declared at the rehearsal she wanted to walk and be escorted by her grandsons. Careful collaboration between Anthony’s dad (who also served as the officiant), the Whitehall staff and VP Consulting made her dream come true. After she made her way down the aisle and was seated she said, "What, that was it?" Laughter erupted and the processional continued. But that moment of determination was with us for the rest of the night -and in Kyndra and Anthony's hearts forever.

Guests continued to enjoy the lovely weather after the ceremony with cocktails and passed hors

d’oeuvres. Bars were located both outside and inside the manor home. Whitehall features smaller rooms which are perfect for mixing and mingling. Kyndra and Anthony decorated the tables and mantles of these rooms with photos to personalize the space. Guests found their seating assignments on a chart DIY’d by the bride on an ornately framed mirror.

During cocktail hour, VP Consulting coordinators were hard at work, re-purposing the ceremony décor into the reception space. Kyndra and Anthony played it smart by re-using the gazebo garland and some lanterns to decorate the inside bay window of the venue while the rest of the lanterns were placed in circles of greenery and flowers. These were used, along with the bridesmaids’ bouquets, as centerpieces. A classic gold, white and black color scheme finished the look.

Following a delicious plated meal, the happy couple and guests took to the dance floor to burn off dinner. The floor stayed packed courtesy of Kirkabee DJ’s and the sugar rush (aka wedding cake) was provided by Edibles Incredible. All of the action was captured by sister photographers Karen and Ana of En Amor Film + Design. In lieu of favors, Kyndra and Anthony made a generous donation to a favorite charity. And to complete the night, the newlyweds made their departure under a shower of sparklers.

Congratulations Kyndra & Anthony!
